Clay of Amsterdam
Creativity flows through my veins—shaped by over three decades working as a fashion stylist in the fashion industry. I stumbled upon ceramics. From that moment, clay offered me a fresh way to express the same aesthetic impulse I’d honed through fashion and styling.
Although I’ve started with wheel‑throwing early on, my true passion lies in hand‑building. The tactile process of shaping clay by hand gives me the intimacy and control to craft pieces that feel personal, deliberate, and alive. Whether I’m coiling, pinching, or slab‑building, each form is infused with intention born from years of thinking as a creative in the fashion industry.
My fashion background sharpened my eye for proportion, taste and aestetics. I now explore in ceramic. I view each piece as a hybrid of functional object and sculptural narrative, informed by a lifelong dedication to materiality and visual balance.
